FACup Replay: Godalming 3 Ramsgate 0

Well, on Saturday it looked like the Rams were marching towards a home tie (against Met Police) in the 1st Qualifying Round, and then a stoppage time equaliser from super-sub Richard Shittu forced a replay at Godalming Tuesay night.

The first half was evenly matched, with the score 0-0 at the interval. In the 2nd half the end-to-end play continued and, despite the Rams going close and even hitting the bar, Godalminhg broke the deadlock in the 71st minute when they countered on the break down the left flank and Shaun Elliot blasted past Conor Quinn. Godalming upped their game, aided by some canny substitutions, while the Rams attempted to retain their defensive strength but brought on an extra striker in Gary Lockyer with Warren Schulz taking over as centre forward from Mark Lovell. However, Godalming subsitute Dayo Junaid scored shortly after his introduction and Daniel Morris made sure in the last minute.
