The Stiffs faced a very strong Deal Reserves side in this Floodlight Trophy encounter at the Charles Ground on Tuesday, with several of Deal’s 1st team squad in evidence, and it was the home side who opened the scoring after approximately 12 minutes. Ramsgate equalised 10 minutes later through Steve Martin, with the scores remaining level until the interval. Deal retook the lead in the 2nd half, although the Rams nearly equalised again in the closing minutes when Nathan Jeffery’s long throw hit the woodwork, but the score remained at 2-1.
