Ladies 12 White Cliffs 1

Published on September 22, 2010.

Ramsgate’s Ladies welcomed White Cliffs to Southwood for their first home game of the season on Sunday, and with the sun shining the day could only get better with a win for Ramsgate.

The whistle blew and within minutes another promising new player for this season Laura Baker celebrated her return to Ramsgate by scoring the opening goal. After that there was no stopping the Ladies as the goals just kept coming.

Megan Cavell put the ball in the back of the net twice before being substituted by Chav Ashby. Tiff Routledge, who was came on for Nic Godfrey, tore through their defence scoring five goals in the second half.

A strong midfield saw Jess Smith and Sarah Johnson get one each from great passes by Peanut Robinson, while Laura Baker continued from her great start with two more goals to get herself a hat-trick.

The defence stayed solid throughout the whole game with only one goal being conceded from a cheeky chip which caught new goalkeeper Lisa Sparkes off-guard, making the final score to Ramsgate 12-1. Ramsgate Player of the Match (nominated by the Opposition) was Jess Smith.

Ramsgate: Lisa Sparkes, Hannah Spray, Emma Nation, Mel Tsangarides, Emerald Scannell, Peanut Robinson, Jess Smith (Jenny Caraccio), Laura Baker, Megan Cavell (Chav Ashby), Nic Godfrey (Tiff Routledge), Sarah Johnson.
