Whitehawk 4 Rams 2

Today the Rams journeyed to Brighton for their 1st ever meeting with Ryman new boys Whitehawk.

The Hawks have made a fair start to Ryman life and were in 11th place, 3 places above the Rams, however after a fairly even game (despite the score-line) they increased the gap to 5 points.

Ramsgate opened the scoring in the 5th minute, when Mark Lovell powered James Gregory’s corner in with his head. Ten minutes later Joshua Jones equalised, while in the 19th minute Jerahl Hughes gave the Hawks the lead. The Rams equalised in the 32nd minute when Mark Lovell flicked Simon Pettit’s long throw on to James Gregory, whose 25 yard volley left the ‘keeper no chance.

The Rams had chances in the 2nd half and nearly scored on a couple of occasions, but goals in the 75th and 88th minutes gave the home side the win. (More later)
