The success of the Club’s Junior Academy, run by Mark Weatherly, has resulted in the Club entering three even younger age groups into ‘non-competitive’ football in 2011/12, with Under 7, Under 8 and Under 9 teams playing in the Faversham Friendly series, as well as some of the boys being looked at by Gillingham.
Some of next year’s Under 8s played in the Canterbury Eagles tournament on 4th June, but of course FA rules mean we cannot public results. All we can confirm is the A team (pictured), managed by Paul Downer, won 5 and drew 1 of their 7 matches, with 16 goals for and 5 against. The goals came from Jack Hawkins, Jack Bedford, Lewis Downer and George Lamb. The B team, under Mr Weatherly, won 2 and drew 2 of their matches, with goals from Harry McIntyre, Lucas Twyman, Tommy Hulme and Grant Fowler. Player of the Tournament for the Bs was Kieran Black.
