Rams 2 – Needham Market 7 – FA Trophy

Ramsgate’s 1st Team bowed out of the FA Trophy at the first stage today, after a convincing win by Ryman 1 North side Needham Market. The Marketmen kicked off and had the better of the early chances, although big Joseph Afusi put the Rams into the lead in the 15th minute. However, a bizarre deflection gave the visitors an equaliser a minute later, followed by three more to give the Marketmen a 4-1 lead at the interval.

The visitors got their 5th a minute after the restart and then scored twice more before the Rams were awarded a late penalty after Pascal Ebigbowas brought down in the area. Gareth Cornhill stepped and rifled the ball into the net, to give the Rams their 2nd.
