MATCH PREVIEW | Sittingbourne v Ramsgate

2 years ago By Sam Perkins

It's the final fixture of the month and a chance for Ramsgate to change their September fortunes

Ramsgate head to Sittingbourne for the second time in two weeks. Again its midweek but this time they do battle in the Ryman League South.

Sittingbourne’s defeat by Lewes on Saturday cost them their unbeaten home record in the league but they are still in the top half of the league table with games in hand on some of the teams above them and having lost only twice this season.

However, Ramsgate can take hope from Saturday's match as Sittingbourne lost to a side who also hadn't won a game this month. Lewes ended their poor run of results on Saturday by scoring three late goals to cancel out Miles Cornwell’s 56th minute opener for Sittingbourne.

The congested September fixture list ends tomorrow night at Woodstock and then starts all over again on Saturday at home to Whyteleafe.

Ashley Miller made his debut return for Ramsgate against Corinthian-Casuals on Saturday but couldn't get on the scoresheet as the Rams failed to score for just the second time this season. Joe Taylor moved in the other direction to Folkestone Invicta last week and Jim and Danny Ward will be hoping Miller can contribute goals in his absence.
