For those of you who attended our home fixture on Saturday against Guernsey, I hope you left like I did; pleased with display of the players.
Defensively we looked a lot more solid - our pressing was good and unfortunately the only thing that let us down was converting our chances into goals. That's 3 games without a goal and who would've said that a month ago, but I've absolutely no concerns with this team’s ability to score and I felt that had we got one on Saturday then we would've probably gone on to win comfortably.
With Wheatley, Kane and Woollcott unavailable, as well as injuries to Gray and Millbank, it was a great to see Jacob Mensah and Billy Munday get to start. I'm sure for those who were in attendance would agree they were very impressive, and Billy capped his performance by being selected in the Kent On-line ‘team of the week’.
This week we look forward to a challenging tie away at Corinthian Casuals on Saturday. Without a midweek game we've had our first training session on a Tuesday for nearly two months and it is long overdue to finally get a proper week’s training in.
Aaron Millbank has stepped up his rehab and can now take part in training. If all goes to plan then we'll be looking at him to take part in a few U23 fixtures in the next couple of weeks.
And speaking of U23s - don't forget they are in action at Southwood tomorrow night (Thursday 2 Nov) against high-flying Hastings, 745pm kickoff.
