RAMSGATE U21s: Alfie Paxman's treble fires side to first victory

Ramsgate U21s started their league campaign on Monday night with an impressive win away at Hastings.

The team started well taking an early lead when Simba Nyarua opened the scoring with a left foot shot from the edge of the box.

The travelling Rams were pegged back when Hastings equalised with an excellent free kick dispatched into the top corner. They were not on level terms for long though as Alfie Paxman finished off good build up play by Dom Crawford and Joe Halford with a diving header.

The game went into the break 2-2 as the team were punished for overplaying right on the stroke of half time.

That goal seemed to knock the confidence of Ramsgate and the home side took a 3-2 lead 15 minutes into the second half. The team worked hard and this paid off when first Alfie Paxman converted a rebound off his own penalty won by his brother Jack and then Alfie completed his hat-trick by smashing the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area.

A great start to the season and Ramsgate U21s urge fans to support at their next home game on Thursday 1st September against Chatham.
