Lloyd looks back at 3 weeks on the road, before Tuesday's homecoming

It feels like it's been a long three weeks since our last home fixture. League games, FA Cup and League cup games have meant we've had a very busy period. Although disappointing results against Ashford and then at conference south side Chelmsford, I was very pleased with our performance against a decent Thamesmead side last week. They were a physically strong side and some key players took a bit of a beating. The result was well overdue in my opinion. Those at the Ashford game would've seen us unable to convert four 1v1s in the first half and on another day we would've walked away with all 3pts and now be unbeaten in 3 games. Those are the fine margins.

Yesterday we travelled away to unbeaten Carshalton. A very, very good footballing side with some fantastic facilities. Being 3-1 up with 25 minutes to go and then to end 4-4 was a pretty amazing game. I certainly aged a few years in that 25 minute spell, that's for sure. Our performance was good and at 3-1 I thought we would push on and get another, however we sat back and invited them on to us. We should've continued our press higher up the pitch but a point away against a team I feel are one of the favourites for the title was a definitely a point gained.

On Tuesday we welcome Faversham to Southwood, and although Ray and Clive's side haven't started the season off quite how they would've liked we certainly won’t be taking anything for granted. They are a very well drilled outfit but after a couple of decent results from our last two league games we'll be taking that into that game and looking for the victory.

Keep up your fantastic support.
