Last Saturday we travelled up to Chipstead on a hard, frosty pitch against a side that were on a decent run. The 1-1 draw was a fair result on reflection and although our performance wasn’t necessarily of the highest standard, I still felt we had shown and done enough for the point. In addition, Joe Kane was ill while George Crimmen and Liam Dickson were both struggling with a virus.
On the current injury front it’s the first time I’ve been able to call upon everyone in the squad. Aaron Millbank is now available for selection and with a busy Christmas period ahead I look forward to seeing him back with the group.
Our opponents on Saturday are Lewes, who currently occupy the top of the league and are so far having an excellent season, with manager Darren Freeman doing a fantastic job. That fixture is the first of a busy 3-week spell up against some very tough teams. However, our home form has been very solid this season and that’s important, so with 3 of the ties here at Southwood between now and the New Year we’ll do our best to keep that record going.
I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
