Looking back at The Bridges, and to Horsham coming up

Last week we were able to bring 3 pts back to Southwood after a hard earned victory against Three Bridges, on arguably the worse pitch at this standard I've ever seen! At one stage I thought the ref was going to abandon the game before kick off due to its state, and I personally wouldn't have blamed him (but we were certainly glad to get going).

During the first half we lacked our usual intensity and the home side dealt with the conditions a bit better than we did, but after a good discussion at half time we were able to point out areas of weakness within the opposition and could easily have been 4-0 up not long after the restart. Goals from Lawford and Chapman gave us a deserved win.

Each week we, as a group, are learning more about each other, and to know the players can quickly absorb information is a real quality.

Our visitors on Saturday, Horsham, find themselves in very similar league position to us – in fact just 1 point separates us currently and with only 7 games left it's important we look to continue our high standard of performance and production against what will prove to be a tough opponent.

We've set our own targets and goals for the remainder of this current season, and our 2017 form would see us 2nd in the league table ... that's no fluke. It's because the players are buying into everything we ask and they're the ones who have got us into this position, and it's vitally important we continue to work hard until the end of the season to gain as many points as possible.

Keep up your fantastic support,

Cheers

Blacky
