The best way to keep up to date with Ramsgate Football Club

Looking forward to Chelmsford and a glance back at Ashford

Tomorrow should be a day we all look forward to.

It gives us an opportunity to leave our indifferent league form behind and allows us to focus on the challenge against a team 2 divisions higher up the football pyramid. We approach this game the same as any other although deep down we are all aware of the occasion, and the buzz around the changing room as well as private conversations with every individuals leaves me in no doubt that everyone is in the right frame of mind.

Last Tuesday we suffered a very disappointing defeat away at Ashford United. It really was a tale of 2 halves. It's not exaggeration when I say we had four 1-on-1s in the first half, as well as other decent chances that we weren't able to convert. No one was more disappointed than us as a group that we weren't able to go in at the break with the lead and I firmly believe had one of the opportunities hit the net it would've been a completely different second half. However that does not excuse our 2nd half performance. It was important we kept our discipline and momentum but we got frustrated and lost control of the game.

As disappointing and frustrating as it is, we are only 6 games into this season and we have all seen what this team is capable of. With continued work and professionalism then we'll get back to winning ways.

Hope to see as many Rams fans tomorrow and we hope we can pull off the victory for you.
