The Easter Bank Holiday Monday saw the Rams make the short hop up the Thanet Way to Winch's Field for an East Kent Derby with long-time rivals Herne Bay.
The penultimate game of the season saw the Rams 5 places and 11 points above the Bay, who were doing their utmost to stop our current unbeaten run from reaching nine, and for most of the second half it looked like they might have succeeded.
With the scores still level at the interval, the Bay opened the scoring three minutes after the restart through former Ramsgate captain Liam Quinn, while recent departee from Southwood Billy Lewins doubled the advantage for the hosts 25 minutes later. Jake Mackenzie made it two goals in two games when he got one back for the Rams with just over 10 minutes to go, while as the clock was running down Aaron Millbank equalised from the spot after Gary Sayer was dismissed for an infringement in front of the goal.
Final game for the Rams sees a visit by Molesey on Saturday 22 April, 3pm kickoff.
