Due to Cray Wanderers’ participation in the FA Trophy last Saturday we didn't have a fixture, so it was a much needed weekend off for the players and gave the opportunity for a few players with niggling injuries to fully recover ahead of our game Tuesday evening at VCD.
For those that travelled I am sure you came back down the M2 scratching your heads as to how we lost that game. I don't believe we got the rewards some of our play deserved. We created numerous opportunities yet against the run of play conceded a goal in the first half that deflated us. However the energy and response from the players in the 2nd half was pleasing and how we didn't get anything from the game I do not know.
Results currently have been very inconsistent but I am sure you'll all agree that the football we have been playing has been very attractive to watch. It's now about converting those performances into results and points. Every week I have come away from these games with just as many positives, as these young players continue their development. What’s important is that they learn from their errors and we focus on getting it right together....if they keep working and improving as they are then it won’t be long before we see the results pick up.
I would also like to thank Adam Woollcott, who has now left us. Sadly we never saw the best of Adam in a Ramsgate shirt this season but I'd like to wish him all the best for the future.
Our opponents tomorrow are Whyteleafe, who have started the season very well and are positioned just outside the play-offs in 7th spot having only lost 3 league games, so that will be a challenge.
Keep up your fantastic support.
