Ramsgate ended the 2016/17 campaign with a home game against 19th place Molesey, and aim to keep their current unbeaten run going to reach ten, and retained their 12th place at the finish.
The Rams opened the scoring just into the 16th minute when visiting ‘keeper Liam Allen spilled the ball under pressure from his own defence and Man of the Match Aaron Millbank was on hand to put it in the net. Millbank doubled the lead from the spot 5 minutes later, after being brought down right in front of the ref, and a few minutes later Alfie Paxman’s clever flick looked to be in but was ruled offside. Jake Munday scored 7 minutes after the restart, while Millbank got his hat-trick 4 minutes later. Molesey looked likely to get one back when Rams’ ‘keeper Luke Watkins was deemed to have fouled a Molesey player in his area, but he dived the right way and saved Joe Nwoko’s penalty. With three minutes to go Millbank converted his 2nd penalty, while in the last minute of stoppage time the Moles got one back through Dre Grobler.
