Lloyd looks at recent form

Last Saturday we were up against our local rivals Herne Bay, and unfortunately went down 3-1. Our start was bright and for the first 30 minutes I thought we looked fairly comfortable until a harsh penalty decision went against us and then we were reduced to 10 men with a mountain to climb not long after.

It’s difficult to take especially as the previous week against Cray Wanderers we had what we thought was a blatant penalty turned down with Alfie being booked for allegedly diving. The fine margins are there for all to see and things just aren’t going our way.

What is even more frustrating is that our performances during this tricky period of results have definitely deserved far more. We are extremely open with one another as a group and with 12 games to go we must focus on achieving the highest league position possible by taking one game at a time.

The players will only benefit from this experience and one thing I can guarantee is that they have mental toughness way beyond their years and I’ve no doubt if they continue to work hard and give everything they have then the results will follow.

Thank you all for your amazing support.
