Firstly, apologies for the late notes this week.
Last Saturday we entertained Whyteleafe at Southwood. Although their form lately hasn’t been fantastic it was still a very pleasing result and performance. The team are really learning the grittier side of the game and when Whyteleafe got themselves back into the game by drawing level with a slightly fortuitous goal, I was very pleased with the team’s response to not let it affect them. I thought every single one of the players applied themselves brilliantly and the 4-1 scoreline was well deserved. Not only was our attacking play exciting but defensively we were very solid as a unit and I personally took more pleasure from that.
Molesey tomorrow will provide a very different challenge. They managed to keep a free scoring Herne Bay quiet last weekend so, like every week, we will have to be ready for a tough tie.
The training Tuesday and Thursday allows us to continually work on our game and our focus now has to be on winning back to back fixtures.
As you can see I'm pleased to inform everyone that Billy Munday has earned himself a contract. Young Billy has done exceptionally well since coming into the first team and has been a breath of fresh air. He must focus on working hard to not just maintain the levels he is reaching but to push on with his development. He like young TJ, Jacob, Rory, Alfie ... etc all have extremely bright futures, and giving these boys the platform to showcase their talents is what’s important.
For those travelling tomorrow then I look forward to seeing you all in the bar after.
