This inter-county coastal derby saw a fairly even battle between Kent's Ramsgate and Sussex side Hastings, although it was the visitors who took all 3 points. Both sides had chances in the opening minute, but in the 12th Billy Medlock outpaced the defence and only had 'keeper Luke Watkins to beat. On the 20th minute the Alfie Paxman was through for Ramsgate but brought down from behind giving the ref no option but to point to the spot - from which Tom Chapman equalised.
In the second half the end-to-end football continued but in the 52nd minute Watkins to come out to block, but the ball fell to Medlock whose shot hit the upright but went in, to double the visitors' lead. Straight from the restart Paxman was again flattened in the area but the referee ignored the claims, while 10 minutes later Rory Smith was brought down, but this time the ref gave a freekick outside the area, which Paxman floated over the wall (pictured) but Pelling anticipated to parry away. The Rams continued to press but the damage was done.

Next up for the Rams is a trip to Hythe Town on Bank Holiday Monday.
