Lloyd considers an Oktoberfest of home matches

Games continue to come thick and fast at this stage of the season and last night we hosted Faversham Town in our first home game for over 3 weeks, and I was delighted with the 3 points.

It was important that we started brightly and didn't let them gain any confidence or momentum. 2-0 at half time would've certainly been more comfortable for us but a weak penalty decision gave them hope of getting back into the tie. Again though I was pleased with the way we started the second half, on the front foot and looking for more goals, and after Chapman's wonderful solo effort to make it 3-1 it was just a bit frustrating we couldn't get the fourth that our attacking play deserved and would've certainly killed the match off.

That's 7 points in 9 now against 3 opponents who at the start of the season we would've predicted be up near the top of the league challenging, so we can be pleased with the last couple of weeks’ results and now look to take that form and momentum on to the extremely tough challenge we face on Saturday in the FA Trophy, with Bury having started their season brightly and currently occupy a play-off spot in the Bostik North.

After that we still have 4 more first team home ties this October so I hope to see you all here.

Cheers
