Those that travelled to Whyteleafe last weekend would’ve seen a very spirited performance and a result we didn’t deserve. Their supporters and management team were highly complimentary of our side and unfortunately the results really aren’t going our way. For large periods of the game, especially in the second half, we were the team on the front foot and the boys certainly deserved at least a point however that’s the way it seems to be going for us right now.
This week’s training had us tactically focus on where we feel we could improve and I felt the players executed that very well. We’ve only managed to score 2 goals in the last 4 games but I’ve no doubt in the ability of my attacking players. Once a striker I’ve been through barren spells myself but what’s vitally important is that all continue to work hard as they currently are and not let their heads drop. I’ve gone on record as saying my front 3-4 players are as good as any in this division and I’ve no doubt they get back to scoring and my team will get back to winning ways soon.
On Saturday we welcome to Cray Wanderers to Southwood today, and as well as being 2 points off the top of the league and are having a fantastic season, Tony Russell and Joe Vines gave us arguably our toughest performance earlier in in the season (and I expect Saturday will be no different).
Again a big ‘thank you’ for your continued support. We are up against some teams with much larger budgets then ourselves but our objectives are undeterred.
I have the upmost faith these young players will start to get results soon and you guys on the sideline acting as a 12th man can really make a difference.
Up the Rams!
