Joined by team managers and players from the Under 7s and Under 8s the atmosphere at Southwood was immense, and everyone from the Under 21s were grateful for their support.
Ramsgate started the first half slowly and looked out of sorts from the previous matches, finding it hard to get in the game against a very good Greenwich side, and it was the visitors who found themselves going in at half time 0-1 up. Ramsgate did create a few chance with their limited possession and formed some good passages of play at times.
The second half was more pressure from the visitors, and with the Greenwich ‘keeper making 4 top drawer saves they kept Ramsgate at bay. The Rams didn’t give up as Greenwich continued to press hard, with the home side undone 3 times, making the final score 0-4.
The very young Ramsgate side, which included seven Under 18s in the squad, learning from the lesson they received. The Under 21s have done a good job over the last 10 games under the new manager and the future is very promising.
Ramsgate have one fixture left, at home to Lewes next Thursday (27 April), where a good win could see the Rams move up in the table.
