5 Oct: ‘Mitch’ Re-signs for the Rams

Trusted Custodian Returns to Southwood

Ramsgate are pleased to confirm an exciting signing, in returning goalkeeper Lewis Mitchell who has today re-signed for the club.

Lewis was a big part of the Rams’ Kent Youth League Under 16 Championship winning side, but first came to the attention of manager James Read as an Under 13 starting his Kent Youth League career at Faversham Town. It wasn't until Under 15s that Lewis first represented Ramsgate and from that went on to represent Kent Schools and progress within the England Schoolboys Trials. Last Season Lewis was first choice goalkeeper in a very good League-winning Tonbridge Angels side and also appeared for England Schoolboys, while he has also played for Erith Town’s 1st team this season including their London Senior Cup tie at Harrow Borough.

Under 23s’ manager James Read is delighted with the return of such a talented goalkeeper, adding “I have a lot of belief in ‘Mitch’, who has impressed me from day one. He has great communication on the pitch as well as superb distribution of the ball and shot stopping abilities.”

We all wish Lewis the best of starts, when he returns to Southwood tonight to make his first appearance for the Under 23 against Faversham (ironically, the club he started his KYL career with).

Don't miss his Under 23s debut - 745pm tonight!
