Ramsgate continue to improve
Great away performance
Ramsgate were facing a tough test at Deal with the home team unbeaten and with 5 wins out of 5 so far. Neither goalkeeper was available with Ollie Haines injured, and Ronnie Murray missing and Callum Bowey
still nursing an injury. Ramsgate started as they had finished last week and were quickly into their stride. The excellent Charlie Shonk
put the Rams ahead with a coolly taken finish. Despite forays into the Reds half Deal didn't trouble stand-in keeper too much. The dubious goals panel sat when A Sam Belsey
corner delivered right into the far post went in off the Deal defender, amid claims it was going in anyway. The dubious goals panel consisting of Sam himself awarded the goal to Sam himself, he was the one with the best view along the line! Ramsgate were well and truly in their stride now and 3 magnificent team goals in 9 minutes all finished magnificently by Farzad Haidary
and he had his hat-trick. 5-0 was soon 6, a free kick 30 yards out was taken by Sam Belsey
and this time there was no doubt, top left corner leaving the keeper no chance.
Half-time came and both teams went to their corners, preparing for the 2nd half.
Ramsgate continued in the same way but Deal had regrouped and came out with renewed energy, but Ramsgate were in no mood to concede. Tom Coyne
pulled off some fine saves from long range strikes, looking every inch a goalkeeper (but he is a fine outfield player too !) The brilliant Jordan Anderson
added a 7th on 71 mins and Zack Holder
's magnificent efforts were finally rewarded on 79 for 8-0.
In between the last two goals came a save that rivals Gordon Banks World Cup, point blank reaction save from Pele, how he kept it out no-one knows but the crowd were on their feet.
Rams players and fans went home happy having been entertained with some of the best football this team has ever produced.
