East Kent Youth League

east kent youth leagueThe Molten East Kent Youth Football League is one of a number of youth leagues around Kent that cater for teams of varying abilities, with promotion/relegation up and down the divisions for those age groups where the FA permits competitive football.

The League is an FA Charter Standard League and provides competitive and non-competitive football for children from 8 years upwards.

Ramsgate utilise the EKYL as part of its player development process, with a team in the top division of each age group for which the Club has a team in the Kent Youth League (apart from Under 14s, for 2010/11). As well as assisting the less proficient players on the fringes of the Kent Youth League teams with developing their game and maintaining match fitness, similar to a ‘reserve’ side, it provides an opportunity for players who develop more quickly during the season to step up (and also provides competition for places in the Kent Youth League squad).

This season Ramsgate have teams in Division 1 of the following age groups:

  • Under 11s
  • Under 12s (x 2)
  • Under 13s
  • Under 15s
  • Under 16s
  • Under 18s
