Blacky's Briefing: Happy to get the Better of a Difficult Phoenix Side

Blacky's Briefing: Happy to get the Better of a Difficult Phoenix Side

06/12/2018

A very well deserved draw away from home against a tough Phoenix Sports side last Saturday was pleasing.

They are 2nd in the league and we had a good few opportunities to kill the game off which we couldn’t take. Their equaliser was disappointing but in fairness was deserved, however I was pleased with the first 60 minutes of our performance.

It was then important in the replay at Southwood on Tuesday that we stuck to the game plan for the whole 90 minutes, which we did and to walk away with a clean sheet considering the players efforts was well deserved.

An excellent move finished off by Aaron Millbank saw us progress to the next round of the FA Trophy. We can now look forward to facing AFC Hornchurch, who compete one level above us on the football pyramid.

This Saturday we face another league fixture away from home, against a youthful Greenwich Borough side. I’ve no doubt it’ll be a tough challenge.

See you at the game.
