Blacky's Briefing: Reaction to Greenwich Victory & Looking Forward to Hornchurch

06/12/2018

Last week we made very tough work of a game that should’ve seen us home and dry by half time but again I give credit to the players for another away victory.

It would be no exaggeration to say we should easily have been 5 maybe 6 up at the break. We created lots and lots of good opportunities and were unusually wasteful. Heading into the break at 2-0 was the very, very least we deserved and we always knew Greenwich would come back at us, but I was pleased with 3 points as any game away from home in this division is challenging.

We welcomed Leroy Hlabi for the last 15 minutes too - a young forward from Gillingham who is here for a month.

Heading into the weekend our preparation for the FA Trophy encounter at Hornchurch is complete. Our cup performances have been impressive this season and we hope to continue that tomorrow. Although on the back of 5 straight defeats, there is no doubt of their quality but we go there with a good level of confidence and look forward to picking our wits against higher opposition.

For those travelling I’m sure we’ll do you proud.
