George Crimmen Admits "I Thought it Was a Dead Cert to go in" Following Heroic Goal Line Clearance
Ramsgate defender George Crimmen says he was impressed with his sides performance following a 0-0 draw at home to Haywards Heath on Saturday.
"I thought it was a good team performance, but obviously frustrating at times," George said.
"We defended well as a unit to keep the clean sheet, but unfortunately we never created enough chances up top to get a goal,"
"I think we need to take the point because of their position in the league - they've been in top form this season."
The captain was The Rams' saviour in the second half, clearing an effort off the line to keep their clean sheet in tact.
"If I'm being honest, I thought it was a dead cert to go in,"
"So I was pleased I was in a position to be able to clear it off the line because it was creeping in,"
"We needed a bit of luck."
Crimmen admits he understands fans' concerns regarding Ramsgate's recent form but insists they will get it right.
"From the outside looking in, I guess it's concerning that we haven't won in 10, but as a team we're still a tight group, we're a good team and we believe we will get it right."
"Right now we want to keep building on what we currently have to best prepare us for next season."
