Jason Lillis Reacts: Haywards Heath Performance / Budget Constraints / Looking Forward to Achieving Targets
Ramsgate’s Head of Development Coach, Jason Lillis, has reacted to Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against Haywards Heath.
“It wasn’t a particularly great start for us and we were way too sloppy for my liking,” Jason said.
“We kept giving away silly freekicks in dangerous areas and let them get on the front foot from early on.”
“I have to take a lot of responsibility for the result because I threw a few players in straight away having only just joined the club,”
“That said, I felt the need to change it up a little bit and so I took that risk as I thought it was necessary.”
Despite the defeat, Jason believes Ramsgate can move forward and achieve the targets set at the club.
“The Chairman has given us a job to do, and I am going to try my best to achieve that for him,”
“I have obviously made some changes due to the budget constraints we have to work to - so it’s a little bit of a juggling act at the moment.”
“But, it’s about sustaining the club and seeing where it takes us. There are going to be dips in the road - we know that.”
“However, that’s the nature of the business we are in at the moment. From my perspective, I only want to look forward and get the best out of us.”
