Luke Watkins: Minor Mistakes are Leading to Massive Consequences

Following Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Ashford United on Saturday, Luke Watkins admitted he and his side are capable of so much more.

The goakeeper has failed to keep a clean sheet in his last 8 games, though that's down to a lot of misfortune.

"It's always a cause for concern when you aren't keeping clean sheets," Luke said.

"We should've kept clean sheets against both Sevenoaks and Three Bridges in the last couple of weeks, and maybe even against Ashford too,"

"We've effectively turned what could have been 7-9 points into 2 points, and it's not good enough,"

"I hold my hands up over recent weeks, I haven't done good enough, and as a unit I know we are capable of so much more."

Watkins belives his side can respond in a positive way, starting with Hythe Town away from home next Saturday.

"We need to be as strong as we were in the first half against Ashford defensively, and if we do that every game throughout, the forwards will do their jobs," Luke said.

"It feels like we make minor mistakes and suffer massive consequences as a result, so it's a game of fine margins,"

"I'm confident we will get back on track and finish the season strong."
