MATCH PREVIEW: Ramsgate FC v Folkestone Invicta [Pre-Season]
Ramsgate Football Club take on Folkestone Invicta FC on Saturday afternoon at the Southwood Stadium, 3:00pm kick-off.
Matt Longhurst’s side will look to kick off their pre-season in fine style as The Rams play their first game since March 10.
Suppoters will NOT be able to attend the game.
Matt Longhurst will have a full squad available with no current injury concerns noted. Rory Smith will join up with the club later in August.
The likes of Brannon Daly, Ryan Johnson, Abdul Salami, Riley Twyman, Ben Wilson, Lee Prescott and George Nikaj could all make debuts.
“It seems forever ago since we last played a game of football to be honest, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
“Folkestone will of course present a tough test for our squad. They have a great group of players and Neil [Cugley] is a top manager.”
“Our main priority is just to get vital minutes into the players who need to build-up their match fitness ahead of another campaign.”
“We could be playing FA Cup football as early as September 1st, so it’s extremely important the players are up to scratch both mentally and physically.”
“Potentially we could use 19-20 players on Saturday to give everybody plenty of time on the pitch.”
“On Sunday me and the rest of my staff will have our first opportunity to reflect on a game for a while - that’s going to feel great.”
“Unfortunately there won’t be any supporters at the game initially but hopefully during the course of August we can get constant updates on whether that stance changes.”
“We are very eager to comply with all Government guidelines and intend to keep everybody as safe as possible.”
