MATCH PREVIEW: Ramsgate FC v Haywards Heath
Ramsgate Football Club take on Haywards Heath for more Isthmian League action on Saturday afternoon at the Southwood Stadium, 3:00pm kick-off.
Matt Longhurst’s side will look to get back to winning ways following Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Burgess Hill.
Ramsgate should welcome back full-back Aaron Simpson after recovering from illness whilst Giorgio Russo could miss out on the weekend.
“It’s a difficult game against an in-form side but we’ve had a reasonably good period ourselves over the last three or four matches.”
“Our own performances on the pitch have certainly improved in recent weeks and we will be looking to give them a tough game at home.”
“We’ve brought in Mitch Chapman who’s scored twice after coming off the bench which is a massive plus and Henry Arnold has impressed in two different roles, so we’re starting to show our strength in depth at the club which is something we absolutely need.”
“I’m hoping to welcome back Aaron Simpson after recent illness kept him out of our last two games which is a nice bonus, Giorgio Russo may potentially miss out. We’ll see.”
“Overall the players have been excellent for me and I have to credit the Chairman James Lawson for aiding everything I’ve asked for and is continuing to do so. The guys in the background also need to take credit for the progress made. Our kitman Russel has helped out a lot in making our lives easier, for example.”
“Also supporting the club immensely is Paul Bowden-Brown who’s part of the Board and he’s also helping aid what’s needed at the club.”
“And then focussing on the football side we have a hard-working team in Les [Cleevely], Liam [Taylor] and Katy [Jonesy].”
“The hard-work has only just begun, though. We are aware of that and Saturday marks another tough test against an experienced group of players and manager.”
“Of course it’s another opportunity to see where we are at and after the last two results we want to pick up a win more than anything.”
