MATCH PREVIEW: Whitstable Town vs Ramsgate FC [Kent Senior Cup]
Ramsgate Football Club take on Whitstable Town for some Kent Senior Cup action on Tuesday night at Belmont Road, 7:45pm kick-off.
Matt Longhurst’s side will look to get back to winning ways following Saturday’s 3-2 defeat against Whyteleafe.
Matt Longhurst will be without a couple of usual first teamers tomorrow night due to being cup-tied or injured.
“It’s going to be a tough game on a tough pitch in difficult conditions I would imagine after the weather we’ve had recently.”
“Obviously we have a few of the first team players out as they are cup-tied and that leaves us a little bit light in certain areas of the pitch. These things can happen when you bring players in towards the latter stages of the season.”
“As a club we’ve already done quite well in this competition to reach the quarter-finals having beat a young Ebbsfleet side with a young side of our own.”
“Tomorrow we will use a young side once again and give some players an opportunity to impress. I’m excited by some of the prospects at our disposal that will be in the squad.”
“A couple of youngsters will be in the squad for the first time tomorrow including Max Glett who performed well on Friday night with the U23’s as well as others.”
“Farzad, who’s been part of the first-team set-up since I joined, will be involved too of course. He’s now looking far better in training having been around the group which is good to see.”
“Of course, as I already mentioned, the conditions will be tough and we will try to best prepare for that situation. Maybe we will set ourselves up differently to usual, we’ll see. What I do know for sure is that tomorrow isn’t so much about a performance but it is about getting a result.”
“It’s going to be an exciting match under the lights with a decent crowd. We want to progress into the semi-finals and we will do all we can to try and make that happen.”
