Match Report: Hadley FC 1-0 Ramsgate FC [FA Cup]
Ramsgate FC crashed out of the Emirates FA Cup after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Hadley FC on Saturday afternoon.
Tom Milton was the difference for the home side as his solo effort marched Hadley into the third-round of qualifying.
Kane Rowland, playing on the right-wing, beat his man out wide comfortably before producing a great ball into the box which was met by the head of Steve Smith. His effort was just over the bar but marked a decent start for Ramsgate in the 2nd minute.
A near-post header from Tom Milton caught The Rams off guard and the ball squirmed into the back of the net, beating keeper Louie Wells following a great corner delivery from Bradley Marriott.
In the 20th minute, Matty Robinson’s set-piece delivery into the box found Liam Friend at the back post, but his header was saved with ease by Hadley keeper’ Luke Ward.
Just before the close of the first-half, Hadley very nearly doubled their advantage from another corner. Manny Hammond’s header initially beat The Rams keeper, but Matty Robinson was on que to clear off the line to the despair of Hadley fans who’s celebrations were premature.

It was a poor start to the second-half from both sides, neither causing a major threat on the attack.
It wasn’t until the 75th minute that Ramsgate looked like earning an equaliser. Jonny Steele’s mis-hit cross into the box actually forced Hadley’s keeper to make a save onto the bar.
That chance was a turning point for Ramsgate, who kept the pressure on in search for a much needed goal.
Luke Ward made an outstanding save on the line from Kane Rowland after some initial scraps inside the box. Tom Wynter struck a volley onto the bar and the ball fell into the path of Rowland, but the keeper somehow produced a save at point blank range to keep his side in the driving seat.
Louie Wells was then called into action for The Rams in the 84th minute, saving Solomon Ofori’s low-driven shot after he was one on one with the goalkeeper, keeping Ramsgate in the match.
Steve Smith went agonisingly close to equalising in stoppage time. Steele put a pin-point cross into the box and was met by the head of S.Smith, but his effort whiskered past the post.
