Match Report: Ramsgate 0 - 0 Horsham

Although there were no goals this certainly was not a dull or boring match. We were treated to full on entertainment with both sides playing attractive football and creating excellent chances in front of goal, forcing both keepers into action and making excellent saves.

Ramsgate certainly bounced back from their cup exit and showed exactly the commitment that Lloyd would expect from them; the defence was resolute and with a couple of goal line clearances, especially the one by Jacob Mensah flicking the ball off his heel up and on to the crossbar, helped keep Watkins clean sheet intact. The best chance of the first half fell to Harry Stannard in front of goal, with a clear opportunity he leaned back as he shot and fired over the bar.

The second half saw the return of Ollie Gray as a sub replacing Charlie Dickens before kickoff. The Rams seemed to take more of a hold on the game in the second 45, pushing forward with Jack Penny delivering some great crosses and corners with the added aerial threat of Gray in the box. The Rams upped the pace when Sam Lawford (pictured applying pressure) replaced Rory Smith creating a greater threat with attacks coming in from both left and right flanks, and the Rams had several good opportunities but it was not to be.
