Match Report: Ramsgate 1 - 1 Hythe Town
A superb performance from Ramsgate, pushing forward right from the off but unable to convert their chances with some excellent saves by Hythe ‘keeper Prall certainly keeping the visitors in the game. Totally against the run of play Hythe were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Rams’ box 28th minute, and up stepped Zak Ansah to fire home right in the top corner with Watkins unable to reach the ball. The Rams persisted and kept attacking with Hythe hitting on the break, but at half time it was still Rams 0 Hythe 1.
The second half the crowd enjoyed watching the Rams Tom Chapman pressing forward and taking on defenders at every opportunity, and in the 49th minute saw Chapman go through only to be brought down inside the box. With a penalty awarded, Aaron Millbank, as cool as you like, steps up and fires home a well-deserved equaliser (pictured above). The Rams continued to press as the game opened up, swinging one way then the other, but at the end the Rams will think themselves unlucky not to take all the points.
