Match Report: Ramsgate FC 1 - 3 Ashford United
Ramsgate started brightly and were a little unfortunate to fall a goal down in the 9th minute courtesy of Ashford’s Sam Corne. The visitors were happy to allow the Rams possession to begin with, counter-attacking in short spells, predominantly down the left hand side, and causing the home side some problems at the back. Ashford eventually got into their rhythm and dominated the rest of the first-half.
Ashford began the second half in similar fashion and the deficit was doubled when Daniel Parish finished off a blistering counter attack to make it 2-0 in the 59th minute. The Rams were given a lifeline after Jerald Aboagye put the ball into his own net in the 77th minute to make it 1-2. Davis’ side kept the pressure on and nearly snatched an equaliser through Samuel Lawford late on, but all hope was lost for Ramsgate when Daniel Parish unleashed a curled effort that floated into the top corner from 20 yards. An outstanding goal to cement the visitors all 3 points.
