Match Report: Ramsgate FC 2-3 Margate FC
Ramsgate fell to a 2-3 defeat against Margate FC on Saturday afternoon. It means the Isle of Thanet Cup will return to Hartsdown Park for the time being.
George Monger put The Rams into the lead with a headed effort at the front post after 16 minutes of action. Ashley Miller delivered a spectacular ball at the near post and Monger executed his header superbly.
Not so long after, the visitors equalised through Oyenuga, tapping home from close range following Leighton’s ball across the face of goal.

Margate took the lead almost immediately after the start of the second half, Adem Ramadam converting with a header inside the box, beating William Godmon.
The Gate increased their advantage in the 64th minute. Godmon did extremely well to keep out a deflected effort at full stretch, but the ball fell into the path of Leighton who nodded home.
Kane Rowland gave Ramsgate a lifeline 10 minutes later. The striker latched onto a defensive error from Jay Saunders’ side, drove forward with the ball at pace and thumped an effort from 20-yards into the back of the net hitting the crossbar on the way - a screamer of a goal!
Following the goal, Mikey Dalton was able to keep The Rams in the game with goal line clearance soon after.
However, karma took its toll as Ramsgate had two efforts cleared off the line in the final seconds of the game and were unable to force a penalty shoot-out.
