Match Report: Sevenoaks 1 - 3 Ramsgate FC (FA Cup Replay)
After Saturday's 1-1 draw at Southwood, Ramsgate put on a much better showing in the replay at Greatness Park with a 3-1 win and a trip to Hampshire on Saturday week.
The Rams looked much the sharper from the start, although TJ Jadama had to be replaced by Sam Lawford in the 7th minute (with the niggling injury sustained in the tie vs Chatham later diagnosed in A&E as a fractured vertebrae). The Rams took the lead in the 13th minute through an incredible right foot strike from the edge of the area by Jack Penny, that rifled through giving 'keeper Ben Bridle-Card no chance at full stretch. The Rams kept the pressure up and Bridle-Card busy, and on 26 George Crimmen doubled the lead with a precision header at the far post from a Ramsgate freekick. Sevenoaks defender Jack Miles forced a corner three minutes later, from which he managed to get one back for the Oaks making the score 2-1 at the interval. In the second half the Rams continued to make the better chances, and in the 52nd minute Aaron Millbank connected with a long throw and his looping header over the 'keeper was the 3rd to seal the win. Although the Oaks didn't give up they either squandered the chances they created or were thwarted by Watkins, apart from striking the post in the 90th minute, leaving the Rams still looking the more likely to score .
