MATCH REPORT: Three Bridges 0-0 Ramsgate FC

12/10/2019

Ramsgate Football Club were held to a goalless draw away to Three Bridges on Saturday afternoon.

FIRST-HALF:

Three Bridges forward Andre McCollin had an early headed effort on goal go wide of the post, firing a warning to Ramsgate inside 10 minutes.

Rory Smith had a go from range a few moments later. His powerful shot from 25-yards was saved, but nearly caught the keeper out.

Jack Paxman went agonisingly close to goal in the 18th minute following a lovely switch of play from left to right. Kane Rowland picked out Paxman in acres of space on the right-wing, and the full-back charged into the box before unleashing an effort on goal, brushing past the far-post.

Left-back Jack Morrell was slipped in behind on the wing by Aaron Lamont, who made a sublime pass to pick out the defender, but Morrell’s cross into the box was miscued. That did however force goalkeeper Kieron Thorp to make a smart save as Morrell’s attempted cross nearly found the back of the net.

Andre McCollin had another golden opportunity to put the home side into the lead with a chance just before the break. Lee Hall made a good run down the right, setting up McCollin on edge of the 18-yard box, but his shot on goal went wide of the post, failing to even test Rams keeper’ Jonathan Miles.

SECOND-HALF:

R.Smith’s deflected effort produced a great save from Kieron Thorp at the start of the second half.

Bode Anidugbe had a similar effort a couple of minutes later, this time comfortably saved from the goalkeeper.

Jonathan Miles was called to action in the 73rd minute as The Rams defence was caught napping. Curtis Gayler was free inside the box and took a snap-shot on goal, but Miles was quick off his line to keep the scores level.

Aziaya delivered a great ball into the box from the right, straight into the path of R.Smith, but his effort was kept out following a good save.

Smith had the last chance of the game late on, nearly capitalising on a fatal error from Three Bridges defender Dean Gunner. Rory stole possession in midfield and burst forward before creating an opening for himself on his left foot, but his attempt was once again saved by Kieron Thorp.
