Matty Robinson Says Ramsgate Have "Rectified" Saturday's 0-0 Draw at Home to Arundel FC After 4-0 Thrashing
Matty Robinson believes Ramsgate have made amends after breezing to a 4-0 victory away to Arundel FC in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.
The Rams were held to a 0-0 draw at home on Saturday, forcing the first-qualifying round replay at Mill Road.
“I think the boys were quality [against Arundel]. We were obviously coming off the back of a poor performance on Saturday, but we’ve rectified that,” Matty Robinson said.
“On Saturday it was just a case of not taking our chances, and fortunately that wasn’t an issue this time around.”
“I’m happy I could get the assist - that’s just as good a feeling as scoring a goal for me. Smithy made a great run at the front post and finished well.”
“That’s my game, especially with the fact it was a set-piece as well, that’s one of my biggest strengths.”
Robinson, who is naturally a winger, filled in at left-back for the injured Jack Morrell and put in a tremendous display.
“Obviously my natural position is on the wing - but I have had a little bit of experience at full-back before.”
“I think anybody could play at left-back with Friendy alongside them, everything just comes with the experience that he gives you. If you listen to him it makes your job a whole lot easier.”
“We’re looking forward to Saturday now. Hopefully we can put in a similar performance. We want to keep the ball well, take our chances and then the result should come.”
