Michael Aziaya - Let's Take it Game by Game, we Don't Want to get Ahead of Ourselves
Ramsgate triumphed to a 3-1 victory against Whyteleafe at the Southwood Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Rams midfielder, Michael Aziaya, believes his side executed their game plan perfectly to pick up all three points.
“I think our play was superb on Saturday, the gaffer had a plan and I think we did exactly what was needed,” Michael said.
“We knew Whyteleafe were a good ball playing side so we didn’t want to get sucked in,”
“We tried to stick to our own philosophy and we deserved the three points.”
“That said, we have high expectations for ourselves and we can’t afford to slack off in any moment during a game. We conceded a goal and we still have things to improve going forward.”
Aziaya scored Ramsgate’s third on Saturday, ending a 5-year run without a goal in open play.
“I was over the moon to score on the weekend, it was a long time coming.” He said.
“Miller played the ball to me on the edge of the box and I had to shoot, so I did just that and the next thing you know it was in the back of the net.”
The victory also meant Ramsgate extended their unbeaten run to five games under Jason Lillis, Terry Sedge and Joe Radford.
“I think it’s important to take it game by game rather than getting too carried away. We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.” Aziaya said.
“Now, our attention will turn to Faversham on Saturday and the target will be the same.”
