Nick Davis: Far from Complete Performance but we were Clinical and That was the Difference
Nick Davis has commended his side for being clinical in front of goal in Ramsgate's 5-1 victory away to Herne Bay on Tuesday evening.
The Rams boss admitted he wasn’t impressed with his sides start to the game, but that their ruthlessness in front of goal was the difference.
“To score 5 goals away from home is obviously pleasing,” Nick said.
“The most ironic thing is that for 15 minutes we played the worst since I’ve been here,”
“I was going mad on the touchline because we just weren’t getting to terms with what I wanted,”
“Then we scored, and it was a completely different game from then on – some of our play was honestly frighteningly good,”
“No disrespect to Herne Bay, but we could’ve scored even more.”
Despite the triumphant win, it was far from a complete performance Nick admitted.
“It wasn’t a complete performance, it really wasn’t,” Nick said.
“We were just really clinical when we went forward and that was the difference,”
“Sometimes goals change games and in our case it did,”
“Even at half-time at 4-0 up I reminded the players that they blew a 4-2 lead to Herne Bay earlier on in the season,”
“We just needed to make sure we managed the game correctly to get the all-important 3 points.”
Ramsgate now take on East Grinstead away from home on Saturday and will be looking to keep the pressure on the sides above them in the table.
