Nick Davis: "It Wasn't Meant to be" Against Guernsey
Nick Davis was impressed with his sides determination to turn the game around after trailing by 0-1 at half-time.
Two outstanding goals from Rory Smith, most notably the second, was the difference. But, a Guernsey equaliser to make it 2-2 meant the points would be shared at Southwood.
"I thought Guernsey were a decent side, they're travelling really good, their bench is strong, and they conduct themselves well," Nick said.
"We went 0-1 down on the stroke of half-time, it was a mistake from us - but a good finish from them,"
"Probably an even first half. They hit the post, but we created loads as well."
However, the Rams boss insisted his side were a different animal in the second half.
"The second half was a completely different story," Nick said.
"We were by far the better side. Rory scored two great goals - one straight out the blocks and the other was spectacular,"
"The break from the referee didn't help, but nonetheless we created chance after chance - it just wasn't meant to be today."
Ramsgate will take on Sittingbourne at home next Saturday, 15:00pm kick-off, and Nick wants his players to show a reaction.
"It could've been 9 from 9, but instead it's 7 from 9. We've now got to go and win our next game of football to give ourselves any opportunity of competing further up that table."
