Nick Davis: My Attention will Turn to Preparing, Building & Maintaining a Squad Capable of Promotion

26/04/2019

I write these notes off the back of a productive Easter weekend, taking 4 points from a possible 6 and feel unfortunate not to have gained maximum points.

The high expectations that were felt amongst us all from the great run of results we had at the turn of the year unfortunately were not maintained.

With suspensions, unavailability and the irregular fixture programme hindering us, it certainly knocked us from our stride.

As well as not maintaining a level of consistency that is the key for positive results and success, I must admit when I returned to this great club back in December since my playing time that ended some 10 years previous, there wasn’t quite the same atmosphere and buzz that I encountered and the club was renowned for at that time.

With all the changes happening off the field and the ambition shown I can say that the genuine feeling is beginning to change for the better.

Success helps create a positive and enjoyable environment and I will do everything I can going forward to help bring that back.

My first task will try and finish this season on a high and win our final game against a really tough opposition in Whyteleafe.

Whilst the players enjoy their well deserved summer breaks, my hard work begins and my attentions will then immediately turn to preparing, maintaining and building a squad and foundation that is hopefully capable to compete for promotion.

After the game, we are having our player awards ceremony so please stay and join us for a drink or two in the bar.

If not, have a great summer and thank you from myself the staff and all the players for your continued support.

We go again next season.

Up The Rams!

Nick.
