Nick Davis "So Proud" of Performance in 2-2 Draw Against Hythe Town

Nick Davis

Nick Davis has hailed his side for snatching a point away to Hythe Town this weekend, having ended the game with 9 men.

Ramsgate initially took the lead after 10 minutes via Kane Rowland, but Hythe equalised 10 minutes later through a moment of misfortune - Rob Saunders scoring an own goal.

Hythe then took the lead after 73 minutes thanks to an outstanding solo effort from Thomas Carlton, before Charlie Dickens levelled up the score just 2 minutes later, ending 2-2.

"I'm just extremely proud of the players for the togetherness they showed on Saturday," Nick said.

"What resolve, what stubbornness, what a performance. I said to the lads at half-time 'enjoy defending',"

"When I was playing, I used to thrive upon that. Down to 10 men 'come on then, lets see what you've got' would go through my mind,"

"It took something magical for Hythe to take the lead, and to still get back into it at 2-2 was special,"

"I thought we were the better side with 10 men."

The Rams boss also criticised the referee for sending off Rob Saunders and Kane Rowland.

"The two sending offs were an absolute joke," Nick said.

"Decisions like that cost people their jobs, it really could do,"

"Hopefully we can appeal the Kane Rowland red card."
