Nick Davis: There is a Real Buzz Around Ramsgate and It Starts with the Fans
Manager Nick Davis has hailed his sides performance against top of the league Cray Wanderers on Saturday as his Ramsgate came back from a goal down on two occasions to snatch a point, ending 2-2.
"It shows a lot of character from the lads, doesn't it," Nick said.
"We were very disappointed last week with the manner in which we lost against East Grinstead, so it was a great response,"
"I think we are becoming a hard team to beat, especially at home, and it's all credit to the players."
Nick did also heap plenty of praise on Cray Wanderers following Saturday's draw.
"Cray really are a great side, and you can absolutely see why they are top of the league," Nick said.
"So well drilled, very well coached, and they go away to sides like us and do their homework and turn up week in week out so fair play to them,"
"But we had a game plan as well on Saturday and I think it worked to a certain degree,"
"To play at that intensity for 90 minutes was always going to be difficult and that's why our bench made a difference,"
"We can bring on the likes of TJ, Dickens and Stannard - that's what squads are for."
The Rams boss felt the need to give a special mention to the fans following Saturday's match, insisting there is a 'new buzz' around the place.
"For me, to get a crowd of 270 is amazing, those are the type of figures we were averaging in the Premier division and we are mid table in this division,"
"It just shows you what can happen and what can be achieved and what a difference since when I first came back to this place,"
"I'm not saying it's all because of me, look at what Paul Bowden-Brown and everybody else is doing here, all the stuff behind the scenes,"
"There is a real buzz around this place and it starts with the fans."
