Nick Davis: We Got Exactly What we Deserved Against Greenwich Borough

03/02/2019

Nick Davis has admitted the pressure was on when Greenwich Borough took an early lead on Saturday, but his side still managed to come out on top.

Matt Neary gave the visitors the lead in the 13th minute, though that goal was cancelled out when Ollie Gray equalised for Ramsgate on the verge of half-time.

Jake Mackenzie then finished off a stunning team move to put Ramsgate into the lead in the second half.

Gil Carvalho, on his debut, delivered the final nail in the coffin in the closing stages of the match, tapping home from close range. It ended 3-1.

The Rams boss believes his side got what they deserved.

"The lads showed great character, it's never easy coming back from a goal behind - it puts you straight under pressure," Nick said.

"We got exactly what we deserved after the 90 minutes,"

"It shows a lot about the determination of the dressing room bouncing back like that, especially after last week's setback."

Following the victory, Davis has refused to give up on a play-off spot this season.

"8 points off the play-off's as things stand, 13 games to go... game on!"

Ramsgate take on Herne Bay away from home on Tuesday 5th February, where they will look to continue winning ways.
