Ramsgate FC Welcomed Ellington Infant School to the Southwood Stadium

Last Saturday, Ramsgate Football Club welcomed the Infant School children of Ellington to the Southwood Stadium in association with Thanet Passport.

Thanet Primary Association for School Sport, or Thanet Passport as it is more popularly known, organises and supports all primary/infant school sports festivals and competitions across the district and the figures are impressive.

Since being formed in 2011 it’s participation figures have risen to over 10,000, with its 70+ events covering 26 different sports.

This year Thanet Passport is delighted to be working in partnership with Ramsgate FC, offering children from local schools the opportunity to visit Southwood with their families and act as matchday mascots.

Gary Rees, Chairman of Thanet Passport said:

“Appropriately Ellington Infant School is one of the closest to the ground and was the first school to take up the offer.”

“It is great that Ramsgate FC have worked with us to set up this initiative so that local children and their families get to watch their local senior club.”

“For many, this was their first visit to the ground and it is hoped that they will return on a regular basis and become life-long supporters of the club.”

Chloe Ralph-Harding of Ellington Infant school said, “can I say a huge thank you from the parents and children of Ellington Infants. They had an amazing day and felt very special.”
