Thanet Colts FC Join Ramsgate Football Club
We are delighted to announce that Thanet Colts will join Ramsgate Football Club at the end of the current season.
It’s been well known in local football that Thanet Colts’ long-serving Chairman, Ian Heath. has been looking to step aside from the day to day running of the club. However, he has remained patient to ensure that he safeguards the future of his members by waiting for the best opportunity.
Ian Heath said, “after over a decade of working almost full-time on the football club it’s time for me to spend some more time with my family.”
“The club’s members and children are my priority and it’s taken a long while to find a new home that can take us to the next level. The committee and I believe that by joining Ramsgate FC we will benefit from opportunities, facilities, and pathways that will become the envy of the area.”
“Myself and Paul Hill will become Vice-Chairman of the merged committee and will always be available to liaise with club members."
Ramsgate FC Chairman, James Lawson, stated “we’ve made no secret of our desire to create an environment which enables both kids and coaches to become the best they can be whilst enjoying the game.”
“We take Ian and his committees’ decision to buy into our vision and join us as a huge compliment and as evidence that we are moving in the right direction. They have built a fantastic community and we would like to welcome all the men, women, girls and boys to our club.”
“Thanet Colts have a large and talented committee with many years of experience in Youth Football and I'm delighted that the vast majority will also be joining us and taking key roles in the club.”
“We have ambitions to match a Youth System that is now amongst the biggest in Kent and are working on a number of exciting projects that will greatly enhance your footballing experience.”
